Spring weather still iffy, but spring sports are in full swing!

Lacrosse
The lacrosse team’s season is off to a great start! This year’s team captains are seniors Becca Shutzberg and Merrill Culpepper. After months of preseason, the lacrosse season has already competed in 12 games. Their current record is 11-1, with their most recent win against Hutchison on March 27 (go turkeys!). The lacrosse team has a lot of games coming up, and they are excited to continue working towards the state tournament in May.

Track
The track team has been practicing for just over a month now, and this year’s captains are Joy Jackson, Madison Motley, Avery Noel, Allie Johnston, Lauryn Carr, and Mia Wilson. While their season is just now getting started, they have already competed in their first meet on March 22 at Harding, where the team placed 5th overall. They are clearly off to a great start, and they are sure to continue to succeed this season.

Trap
Even though the trap team has been practicing since October and competing since January, their season is nowhere near its end. The seniors on the team this year are Emily O’Toole, Catie Lockhart, Emily Richards, Emma Harkavy, Sidney Seale, and Sophie Morrow. With an influx of new freshman team members, the trap team is bigger than ever. Most recently, they defeated MUS in their annual invitational tournament on March 25. They will continue to compete throughout the spring and summer, so look forward to what is to come.

Tennis

Finally, the tennis team has also had a strong start to their season. This year’s seniors are Mary La, Karsen Springfield, and Annie Leatherman. So far, they have competed in two matches, against St. Agnes and Lausanne, and they won both. The team is excited to continue supporting one another as they continue to practice and compete.
