by Saanya SrivastavaSo far, this fall sports season has been an amazing one for turkey athletes. All of the fall sports have been doing extremely well. The athletes have had some major victories and a few setbacks; nonetheless, they continue to work hard to ensure they have a remarkable season. Varsity soccer has started their season off with a record of 4-2-1, and one of their most significant wins was against Hutchison with a score of 3-1. Freshman, Carrington Davis, scored all three goals.
JV soccer commenced their season with a great win against Harpeth Hall 2-1. They have continued to improve bringing their record to 1-2-4. One of their momentous wins this season was against St. Benedict at Auburndale, with a score of 3-0. Now onto volleyball! Varsity volleyball has had an impressive season so far, competing in seven games, with a record of 3-4. Varsity volleyball has also competed in the Collierville Tournament and the White Station Tournament, winning first place in the Silver Bracket at the Collierville Tournament. JV volleyball is off to a rocky start. Although they have yet to win one of their games, they continue to improve through all their hard work and determination. This year, cross country decided to compete in invitationals rather than meets. So far they have competed in two invitationals, the Hoka Invitational and the Brooks Twilight Race. At the Hoka Invitational, sophomores Jessica Joshi and Sydney Weiss, junior Ginny Bratton, and senior Allie Johnston all placed in the top 30. Finally, golf — so far, their record is 14-11. Senior Megan Tang has already become an all-world player. This year an 8th grader, Cam Lawrence, made the varsity golf team and has helped strengthen the team tremendously.
