Alumna Taylor Ann Wilson ('20) becomes national champion

This past month, recent alumna Taylor Ann Wilson (‘20) participated in the 2021 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championship in Missouri.  On top of setting a new personal record with an overall score of 9.875, she also set both a school record by becoming Centenary College of Louisiana’s first gymnast to gain a national title at this specific competition since 2012 and became a national champion.

After the championship, Wilson was named a First Team All-American on bars, but, demonstrated in her hard work in determination, it is clear that she has always been all-turkey. 

At St. Mary’s, we let our passions drive our purpose, whatever our passions may be.  While our minds might immediately skip to school sports, Mock Trial, or publications, we often forget our fellow turkeys who participate in activities outside of school, such as gymnastics.  On top of a rigorous course load, gymnastics can be very time consuming, including hours of after school practices and meets on the weekends.  But, Taylor Ann Wilson never quit on her dreams, and it paid off.
