The winter sports teams are off to a great start. While some teams are already in full swing and others are just getting started, all of the teams have a great seasons in store.

On Nov. 3, cross country competed in the state cross country meet in Nashville. Overall, the team received ninth place in their division, an improvement from 11th place last year. With a state team made up of five sophomores and two freshman, the cross country team has a great foundation for growth in coming years. Additionally, three runners, Caroline Griffin, Mia Townsend and Jessica Joshi, beat their personal records during the race. With improvement from the entire team this season, Coach Hensarling said, “I’m super proud of all of the girls this year, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this team.”
Was Hope Solo fired because of her actions or was it because she was advocating for women’s rights? Was Serena Williams penalized for her retaliation or because she is an outspoken female?
