The original house in which Harry Potter lived in a cupboard under the stairs for the Harry Potter films is now for sale for nearly a half a million pounds ($620,000). For anyone who has dreamed of being accepted into Hogwarts, this is just one more reason to relive a love for all things Potter.
The original house in which Harry Potter lived in a cupboard under the stairs for the Harry Potter films is now for sale for nearly a half a million pounds ($620,000). For anyone who has dreamed of being accepted into Hogwarts, this is just one more reason to relive a love for all things Potter.

Contrary to the books’ address of 4 Privet Drive, the house’s real address is 12 Picket Post Close in Bracknell, near London. Nearly 15 years after the production of the first film, this house continues to attract tourists from around the world. Why does Harry Potter continue to flourish in popularity nearly two decades years after the first book released? Meredith Hood (12) explains the appeal as “timeless because there’s no technology.” She says, “It’s more than just what’s happening in that moment and at that time period. It’s these timeless themes behind this story of this boy who goes on all these adventures.”
Along with the magic and adventure, the characters also grow with readers. In the beginning, Harry is introduced to the readers as a mere 11-year-old nobody mistreated by his aunt and uncle. By the end of the books, Harry proves himself to be a hero, defeating the greatest evil and showing consistent bravery, even when it means great sacrifices.

Harry Potter is a diverse story of unrequited love, pain, loss, friendship, and adventure. But maybe most importantly,  it’s a story of inspiration, as Caitlyn Dawson (9) says,  Harry Potter
“shows people your own age doing amazing things that you never thought you could do.”

For everyone who reads the book this Harry Potter size is not that accurate, however, following the movie franchise, it is really well made. The Harry Potter house is filled with nostalgic memories that filled out childhoods with amazing thoughts and memories. Who could ever forget Harry Potter's room which is under the stairs, to me that is really funny and sad at the same time. The inside can only fit one small bed and nothing more. I love this house concept that you have built.
