When most people think of high school campaigns, they may think of a low-key, low stakes event. But, St. Mary’s students remember the week-long production that campaign week is at St. Mary’s. Adopting a clever campaign theme, each of the 10 candidates, with help from a junior campaign manager, then creates fliers, participates in a town hall, writes and delivers a speech, provides food pertaining to her theme and gives out a handout. Finally after each candidate gives their speech, St. Mary’s will vote for their preferred five candidates. Here’s a look at all 10 of the candidates this year.
On Wednesday, after musical and comedic seconding speeches by seniors, the candidates answered questions in a town hall format. Candidate speeches and voting will be during O Period on Friday.
