This weekend be sure to come out and watch our Lower School girls show off their acting abilities in this year’s play, The Jungle Book Jr..
On September 29th, the St. Mary’s lower school will debut Disney’s The Jungle Book Jr. The cast of this production includes students from third and fourth grade. To give as many students as possible a  role, performances alternate between two casts, having two shows on Thursday and three shows on Friday. The shows will play at the Buckman Performing Arts Center at 4 p.m. and  6 p.m. on Thursday, while on Friday there will be shows at 9 a.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m..

Morgan Celeste (10), who is helping with the play, emphasizes how these third and fourth graders “put so much effort into it,” and so “it is more than just cute, but it is actually good.” Last year the Lower School Play was The Lion King Jr., which was “amazing,” but Emma Harkavy (10) was “not really sure how people would react to another animal play.” To her surprise, the girls were so eager and they were able to take “their experience as animals last year and [use] it to develop their characters this year.” “The little kids are so cute, and it is heartwarming to see them so excited about doing the play,” so Mia Wilson (10) encourages everyone to attend because the girls “would be so happy to see all the people come out to watch them.”
