If you have been at St. Mary’s during the past four years, you have probably heard of Grace Lee (‘18). This recent alumna and rising star recently participated in her first major modeling job when she walked in Harlem Row’s fashion show in New York Fashion Week. Recently, she has been juggling her fast-progressing modeling career and her freshman year in college as she attends Rutgers University in New Jersey, just outside of the Big Apple.

Lee said, “I was in Memphis Fashion Week a couple years ago, but the vibe for this was way different. It was such a wild experience, and everyone seemed so professional. It was totally different than anything I have done before but in the best possible way.” Not only was she excited to walk in this particular show because she genuinely likes the clothing, but she also randomly got to meet Lebron James. Lee modeled for Harlem Row’s fashion show in Memphis last November and luckily kept in touch with the designer, enabling this extraordinary opportunity now.

When asked to name a model she admires, Lee answered with model Jazzelle Zanaughtti (@uglyworldwide). “She has walked in several notable shows but she still keeps her look throughout anything she does, and I aspire to that. In the show I just walked in, I was the only girl not wearing a wig, so I’m doing well on that front so far!” Lee explained.

Lee said, “It is definitely hard to balance school and modeling, especially when the show is on your first real day of classes. I think it will be easier as I settle in more, but I definitely learned that procrastination is not cool, kids! Don’t do it!”
