For those of us who love fashion, this year might be the best year yet. Previously, students were not able to attend a Gucci Fashion show, but now we can thanks to all things being virtual.

Including people of all different backgrounds is a major shift for the fashion industry. Closer to home, there is a new fashion club at school.  There are so many opportunities for us St. Mary’s students to be involved in the fashion industry and now is the best time to!

Meghana Madasu (10) designed a dress and jumpsuit for Memphis Fashion Week’s Emerging Memphis Designers Program last summer. They were on display at the Railgarten during Memphis Fashion Week. The fashion show was in person this year, so people had to sign up for time slots to view the designs.

Madasu said, “I feel like this year Memphis Fashion Week posted much more on Instagram of the process and of the actual fashion show to involve people from home who could not make it to the show … This program as a whole is a really good way for people who are interested in fashion to get involved and learn more about what actually goes into designing.”
