Frank Ocean finally released his album, Blond / Blonde after much deliberation and impatient waiting from his excited fans. Hear how Frankie O's evolved since Channel Orange and Nostalgia Ultra with this review.
A few weeks ago, Frank Ocean released his newest album, spelled Blond as a CD or record, and Blonde as a digital release. Frank Ocean is an R&B artist, known for his smooth vocals. While his last album was an eclectic mix of songs, Blonde is more of a concept album. The songs flow together well, each linked with a relaxing ambience. The lyrics of Blonde are arguably more sophisticated than his last album, as they seem to reflect a deeper part of Ocean’s mind. While his voice and music have always had a dreamy feel, this album seems to emphasize the trance-like quality of Ocean’s work. The album is suggested for anyone looking for ambient and soothing music with lyrical contemplation. Overall, Blonde shows how much Frank Ocean has developed as an artist over the past couple of years, showing more continuity and emotional vulnerability while not straying far from his signature style.
